At the first held Youth World Championships the team competition trophies donated by the major sponsor JOOLA are awarded to China.

It was no surprise that the Taiwanese boys reached the final, after thriumphs over Germany and Japan they ( WU Chih-Chi, SUN Wen-Wei and CHIANG Hung-Chieh - all members of the JOOLA Junior Team) brilliantly fought against the top favourite China and failed very closely with 2:3. In the girls' competition China won as expected against Japan.
