06.11.08 Last week the ITTF Cadet Challenge & Junior Circuit Finals, for which JOOLA was the table supplier, took place in Helsingborg, Sweden. Play was of the highest class, at this world tournament, in which boys and girls from all continents participated. For JOOLA it was particularly pleasing that their own player, Gavin Evans, gold medalist at the European Championships in Terni (Italy), could again be a dominant force.. In the team competitions he remained unbeaten in all singles and in the doubles played well with Simon Gauzy from France and won the competition comfortably. Only in the singles did Gavin struggle and had to be content with a middle place. The Asian team, equipped by JOOLA, also represented the company well. Li Ching Wan (HKG) won silver in the girl's singles. In the team competition the cadets from Asia came 3rd and the girls were only defeated by the Japanese team. Overall, the Japanese were the dominating nation. They won all of the titles in the girl's competitions and were dominant in the boys events. |
