JOOLA players dominate at the US Open!

10.07.08 JOOLA Rubber EXPRESS celebrates a successful premiere!

Chen Weixing, Thomas Keinath and Jörg Rosskopf finished first, second and third. With a 4:1 victory against Thomas Keinath, Chen Weixing from Austria not only won the final, but also a prize money of 6.000 dollars.

The JOOLA players performed very well against some strong international competition (including among others Crisan, Jakab, Karakasevic and some strong Japanese players) and also won silver medals in the doubles (Rosskopf/Keinath). Steffen Mengel also took silver in the U21 competition.

Steffen Mengel consistently played well in Las Vegas, however, in the decisive moments luck was not on his side. For example, he was leading 3:0 against Karakasevic and 8:4 in the decisive game, but he could not bring home the victory. Against Patrick Baum he even had a match point but lost 10:12 in the 7th game.

The German champion, Tanja Hain-Hofmann, unfortunately lost 2:4 against a strong Chinese player in the first main round.

Thomas Keinath, Jörg Rosskopf, Steffen Mengel and Tanja Hain-Hofmann abstained from speed glueing and played with the new JOOLA EXPRESS rubber. Jörg Rosskopf: :“It was very good playing with the new EXPRESS rubbers. We won almost every game against players who are still speed glueing. I believe, JOOLA did an excellent job in developing these rubbers. We are heading confidently into the new era."
